ANTI-AGING
Aging is inevitable, but just because time is passing, doesn't mean your skin has to lose its radiance.
WHY WE AGE:
Our skin naturally loses some of its moisture and elasticity as we age, and thus becomes more prone to wrinkles, fine lines, and roughness. On top of that, external damage from UV rays and free radicals can further break down the skin barrier and damage skin cells.
HOW TO FIGHT IT:
Using a face cream with ultra hydrating ingredients like glycerin and sodium hyaluronate can help hold onto moisture which will help maintain skin’s moisture. Cleure Day and Night Creams also contain antioxidants which protect the skin from damaging free radicals which are known to deplete skin cells.
The eye area is one of the first to show signs of aging like puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines. Our Eye Repair Gel and Eye Cream contain peptides and sodium hyaluronate to actively restore moisture and depuff the delicate skin around the eyes.
Overexposure to UV rays from the sun is the #1 cause of early signs of aging. These harmful rays break down the elastin in the skin making you more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles. Using a sunscreen daily (even if it’s cloudy out) is crucial for preventing not just wrinkles and fine lines, but also sun spots and discoloration.
Sun Protection & SPF
The sun provides us with warmth and Vitamin D, but overexposure to the sun’s damaging UV rays can lead to a long list of skin and health problems, so taking the steps to protect your skin is crucial
How the sun can harm your skin:
We’ve all dealt with pesky, painful sunburns, but the damage the sun can cause goes way beyond that.
The sun produces UV (ultraviolet) rays of which there are two types: UVA and UVB. UVB rays are responsible for causing sunburns, and if overexposure to UVB rays is consistent, you may experience permanent discoloration like freckles and sunspots. You’ll also be at high risk for developing skin cancer if preventative measures aren’t put in place.
Sun damage from UVA rays also plays a role in the development of skin cancer, as well as fine lines and wrinkles. It damages the skin’s elastic and collagen tissue, so skin becomes fragile and begins to sag.
How to fight it:
Using a broad spectrum sunscreen daily is your best tool to combat sun damage from both UVA and UVB rays. Even if it’s not sunny out, make sunscreen a priority, as UV rays can pass through clouds, and cause just as much long-term damage.
Mineral sunscreens that use zinc oxide and titanium dioxide work as a shield to reflect the sun’s rays, as opposed to chemical sunscreens that absorb the sun’s rays and use them for energy. Mineral sunscreens typically contain fewer, and more mild ingredients, unlike chemical sunscreens which opt for damaging, toxic ingredients like oxybenzone, octinoxate, and avobenzone.
Cleure’s broad spectrum mineral sunscreen is free of chemical ingredients and common irritants like fragrance and parabens, is non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores, and it doesn’t leave a white cast so you won’t have to sacrifice your skin’s other needs to protect it from the sun. It’s perfect for all skin types, and gentle enough for sensitive skin.
